קונכייה של טורית מקדחית.

טוריתיים (שם מדעי: Turritellidae) היא משפחה של חלזונות ימיים בענף Sorbeoconcha. החלזונות מסוג זה המאופיינים בקונכייה בורגית גבוהה וצרה, דמוית מגדל ספירלי. לעיתים קצהה קטום ומסתיים ב"סתימה" סידנית. גודלה בינוני, בין 40 ל-120 מילימטר בממוצע. פירוש שמה המדעי הוא "מגדל" או "צריח", על שם הקונכייה המגדלית של רוב המינים בה. בסוג זה מינים רבים ומאובנים שלו ידועים עוד מתקופה קדומה מאוד והם נפוצים למדי. שמם העממי באנגלית הוא Tower Snails או Tower Shells וכן Corkscrew Shells.

הקונכייה של הטוריתיים היא מגדלית ודמויות בורג ארוך וצר. יש בה בדרך כלל יותר מ-10 פיתולים וגובה נע בין 40 ל-120 מילימטר. הפתח שלה קטן ועגול, ועל הרגל של החילזון יש מכסה קרני (גולל, operculum). צורתה הבורגית של הקונכייה מסייעת לחילזון להתחפר בחול.

רוב מיני הטורית חיים במפרצים, לגונות וימים רדודים ושקטים. הם מתחפרים בחולות וניזונים מאצות, חוריריות ומרקבובית המצטברת על הקרקע החולית[1] וכן מחומרים אורגניים אותם הם מסננים מהמים.

הסוג הידוע ביותר במשפחה זו הוא הטורית, על שמו היא נקראת. למין טורית מקדחית קונכייה מרשימה וגבוהה. המין טורית מנומרת (Turritella maculata) חי בים סוף ומזדמן גם בחופי אילת. גובה קונכייתו הוא כ-100 מילימטר.[1]
